Terms of Service

Welcome to Who's Lying (hereinafter referred to as the "Game"). This Agreement is entered into between you and Never Pay Studio (hereinafter referred to as "we") concerning your download, installation, login, and use of the Game and related services. Before you begin using the Game, please carefully read and fully understand all the contents of this Agreement, in particular the clauses that exempt or limit liability and the dispute resolution clauses. By clicking "Agree", completing login, or actually using the Game, you indicate that you have read and agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree to any part of this Agreement, please stop using the Game.

1. Scope of the Agreement and Acceptance

1.1 The contents of this Agreement include the main body of this Agreement as well as various rules, announcements, and notices that we have published or may publish in the future. The aforementioned rules, announcements, and notices are an integral part of this Agreement and have the same effect as the main body of this Agreement.

1.2 We have the right to revise this Agreement as business needs require, and the revised Agreement will be published through in-game announcements, the TapTap page, or other reasonable means. After the revised contents are published, your continued use of the Game will be deemed acceptance of the revised Agreement; if you do not accept it, you should stop using the Game.

1.3 This Agreement does not apply to third-party services that you access through the Game (including TapTap accounts, anti-addiction, cloud saves, and advertising services); such services are governed by the agreements and privacy policies separately formulated by their operators.

2. The Services

2.1 The Game is a mobile game with deduction and social interaction at the core of its gameplay, currently offering content such as tutorial levels, story mode, endless mode, and seed play. We will continuously update the game content and features as operational needs require.

2.2 Certain content of the Game (including story mode, endless mode, and seed play) is unlocked only after completing the tutorial levels and achieving a rating of B or above; the specific unlock conditions are subject to the in-game instructions.

2.3 The Game currently does not offer top-ups, in-app purchases, or other paid content. If paid functions are introduced in the future, we will publish the relevant rules in advance and protect your right to know and to choose in accordance with the law.

2.4 The Game services may be interrupted or suspended due to version updates, system maintenance, network failures, force majeure, or other reasons, and we will make reasonable efforts to minimize the impact on you.

3. Account Registration, Login, and Security

3.1 The Game provides login services through TapTap accounts. You must first register and log in to a TapTap account before entering the game. You should also comply with the TapTap user agreement and related rules.

3.2 You should keep your TapTap account and login credentials safe and be responsible for all conduct carried out through that account. Losses caused by your poor safekeeping, active disclosure, or lending of the account shall be borne by you, except where caused by our fault.

3.3 To implement minor protection and real-name verification requirements, the Game integrates TapTap's anti-addiction services. You understand and agree that TapTap will collect and verify your real-name identity information in accordance with its rules, and that the Game only receives and uses the real-name verification result and permitted playtime information.

3.4 If you discover that your account has been stolen or has abnormal login activity, please handle it through the TapTap Account Center immediately and contact us promptly.

4. Rules of User Conduct

4.1 You shall comply with laws and regulations such as the Cybersecurity Law of the People's Republic of China and the Law on the Protection of Minors of the People's Republic of China, and shall not use the Game to engage in any illegal or non-compliant activities.

4.2 You shall not engage in any of the following acts, including but not limited to:

• (1) Using third-party tools such as plug-ins, accelerators, modifiers, or automated scripts, or obtaining improper benefits by modifying the client or tampering with data;
• (2) Cracking, reverse engineering, or decompiling the Game client, or producing or disseminating cracked versions;
• (3) Exploiting program vulnerabilities to obtain benefits or disrupt the game order; if you discover a vulnerability, you should report it to us promptly;
• (4) Publishing or disseminating content containing pornography, violence, gambling, terror, insults, defamation, hatred, invasion of others' privacy, or other illegal or harmful information;
• (5) Impersonating another person, posing as official personnel, or otherwise deceiving or misleading other players;
• (6) Interfering with or disrupting the Game's servers, network communications, or other players' normal use;
• (7) Other acts that violate laws and regulations, public order and good morals, or this Agreement.

4.3 If you violate this Agreement, we have the right, depending on the severity of the circumstances, to take measures such as warnings, restricting functions, suspending services, banning accounts, or deleting non-compliant content; where the circumstances are serious, we have the right to terminate the services and pursue your legal liability in accordance with the law.

5. Game Data, Virtual Items, and Cloud Saves

5.1 Data generated by you in the Game, such as game progress, detective names, ratings, and match records (hereinafter referred to as "Game Data"), are owned by us, and you enjoy the right to use such data in accordance with this Agreement as provided by law.

5.2 The Game currently does not offer virtual currency or virtual items that require payment. Titles, ratings, unlocked content, and similar items obtained through gameplay are for use only within the Game and may not be transferred, sold, or exchanged for cash.

5.3 After you log in with your TapTap account and agree to the relevant authorizations, the Game will upload your saves to TapTap's cloud save service. Cloud saves are synchronized as complete packages, with the save bearing the more recent update time taking precedence; before restoring a cloud save, the Game will retain a local backup.

5.4 The cloud save service is affected by factors such as network conditions and the availability of TapTap services, and we cannot guarantee that cloud data will never be lost under all circumstances. We recommend that you do not uninstall the game or clear the app data before confirming that synchronization is complete.

5.5 If local saves are lost due to your active uninstallation, data clearing, device change, or account closure, we will assist in recovery to the extent technically feasible, but we do not assume liability for losses arising therefrom.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 The intellectual property in the Game and its related software, programs, code, artwork, audio, text, interface design, trademarks, and logos is owned by us or the relevant rights holders and is protected by law.

6.2 Without our written permission, you may not copy, adapt, disseminate, rent, sell, or reverse engineer any part of the Game, or use it for commercial purposes, in any manner.

6.3 Text content that you set or submit within the Game (such as detective names) must not infringe the lawful rights and interests of others. You grant us a non-exclusive license to use such content to the extent necessary for providing the Game services.

7. Protection of Personal Information

7.1 We attach importance to the protection of your personal information; please refer to the Privacy Policy for Who's Lying for the specific rules on collection, use, storage, and sharing. That policy is an integral part of this Agreement.

7.2 The Game integrates TapTap login, anti-addiction, cloud save, and TapADN advertising services; the relevant third parties may process your information in accordance with their own privacy policies. Please review the relevant statements before use.

8. Protection of Minors

8.1 If you are a minor under the age of 18, you should read this Agreement accompanied by your legal guardian and use the Game only after obtaining your guardian's consent.

8.2 The Game integrates the anti-addiction system in accordance with relevant national regulations, imposing limits on the playtime and duration available to minors. You understand and agree that accounts that have not completed real-name verification may be unable to log in or may be subject to corresponding restrictions.

8.3 If you are the guardian of a minor, please pay attention to the minor's gaming behavior; you may contact us in the manner set out in this Agreement to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the relevant personal information.

9. Modification, Interruption, and Termination of the Services

9.1 We have the right to modify, suspend, or terminate some or all of the Game services in accordance with operational strategies, legal and regulatory requirements, or technical conditions, and we will make advance announcements in a reasonable manner.

9.2 If the Game ceases operations, we will make advance announcements in accordance with the law and handle your personal information and related data as required by laws and regulations.

9.3 You may stop using the Game at any time; if you need to close your account, you may apply through the TapTap Account Center or in the manner set out in this Agreement.

10. Disclaimer of Liability

10.1 The Game is provided on an "as is" basis at the existing level of technology. We will make reasonable efforts to ensure the continuity, security, and stability of the services, but we do not guarantee that the services will be absolutely uninterrupted or error-free.

10.2 We shall not be liable, to the extent permitted by law, for service interruptions or data losses caused by force majeure, network operator failures, device failures, third-party service anomalies, hacker attacks, government actions, or other reasons beyond our control.

10.3 The clauses in this Agreement that exempt or limit our liability apply only to the extent permitted by law; if a relevant clause is held invalid, it does not affect the validity of the other clauses.

11. Breach Liability

11.1 If you violate this Agreement or relevant laws and regulations and cause losses to us or third parties, you shall bear corresponding liability for compensation.

11.2 If we violate this Agreement and cause losses to you, we shall bear liability for compensation to the extent prescribed by law.

12. Updates to the Agreement

12.1 We may update this Agreement in accordance with business development, changes in laws and regulations, or technical adjustments. The updated Agreement will be published in the game or on the TapTap page, with the update date indicated.

12.2 For material changes, we will notify you in a more prominent manner. If you do not agree to the updated Agreement, you should stop using the Game; continued use will be deemed acceptance.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

13.1 The formation, validity, interpretation, performance of, and dispute resolution under this Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (for the purposes of this Agreement, excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan of China).

13.2 Disputes arising from this Agreement shall first be resolved through friendly consultation between the parties; if consultation fails, either party may bring a lawsuit before a competent people's court at the defendant's domicile.
